Today’s Wan Chai North came from a series of reclamations over the past few decades. You can feel a change in the environment as the bustle tones down and glass-walled skyscrapers come into sight. Sharp and gleaming, they are the commercial headquarters and government towers that form part of Hong Kong’s skylines. Maggie Wong was inspired by this nuanced beauty. She extracted the delicate rhythm of colours and shapes and created an abstract pavement painting at the entrance of the Hong Kong Arts Centre.
