Futuristic Cyberpunk World
– SSP CITY

Sham Shui Po has always been the fashion & design hub of Hong Kong. With its vividness and specialty, it is frequently seen as part of the futuristic aesthetics in cyberpunk films and is undoubtedly the “Heart of Cyberpunk”.

In order for the public and visitors to truly embrace this unique local culture, #ddHK is launching the latest placemaking initiative - “Heart of Cyberpunk”. The main venue, Tung Chau Street Temporary Market has been transformed into a surreal sci-fi film set, together with a street design gallery, turning specialty shops into “future” shops by collaborating with 6 artists and the shop owners, involving two Fashion Experience Stations and ten Design Exhibits In Shops from around Tai Nam Street and beyond, inviting the public to go on a scavenger hunt within Sham Shui Po to discover what we have in store. Despite what the space is normally used for, with a twist of design, each shop carrying unique traits of cyberpunk element, the visitors are able to immerse themselves in a futuristic Cyberpunk world.

Furthermore, some of the design elements have been extracted for designing a series of Limited Edition Designer T-shirt and mask.

未來城市的街頭設計廊
– SSP City

深水埗區一直都是香港時裝及設計的基地，五光十色的街頭元素更使深水埗成為眾所周知的數碼龐克電影背景靈感。

為了讓公眾及遊人能體驗這種獨特的地道文化，「設計#香港地」於深水埗推出全新創意地方營造項目—「數碼龐克號」創意時尚體驗。 主場地通州街臨時街市被精心佈置為仿如電影場景的「數碼龐克號」總部，此外項目亦聯合6位藝術家，與大南街一帶的特色商店聯乘， 藝術家與店主們合力佈置了兩個時尚補給站及十間迷你藝術店，以不同的數碼龐克元素，例如霓虹燈、3D播放技術投射影象等裝飾店面， 勾勒出未來城市生活的街頭設計廊，吸引公眾及遊人通過按圖索驥欣賞這些迷你藝術店，而對該區更深入了解。

部份店內設計裝置的概念更被粹取出來製成一系列限量版設計師T-shirt及口罩。

蔡志熙 Calvin Tsoi

Calvin Tsoi, a feature film & TV commercial art director & set designer, graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2008 in multimedia design.

In recent years, he has participated in the productions of many Hollywood movies including "Ghost in the Shell", "Transformers: Age of Extinction", "The MEG", "Contagion" etc., with extensive experience in set & props production. Hong Kong film art design works include "Floating City", "Lost in Hong Kong" and "Beast Stalker".

蔡志熙，電影和廣告美術指導及場景設計，2008年畢業於香港理工大學多媒體設計。

近年參與不少荷李活電影製作，包括《攻殼機動隊》、《變形金剛4：絕跡重生》、《巨齒鯊》、《世紀戰疫》等，場景及道具製作經驗豐富。香港電影美術設計作品包括《浮城》、《港囧》及《証人》等。

A voyagers from the future “Heart of Cyberpunk” world, driving his floating motorcycle that pays homage to the design of the 1980s-90s, landed here through the time portal to rewrite the future.

Marcus Yuen

Marcus Yuen loves British culture and tattoo art, his creative style is also full of traditional American tattoo techniques.

Tattoos are part of life for Marcus. Most of the people and things around him are related to tattoos. He thought that the tattoo was just a pattern on the skin, and it did not necessarily need to be given any meaning.

Marcus 熱愛英國文化及紋身藝術，2015年於土瓜灣開設了 59 Tattoo and Barber Shop，並將英式文化及紋身藝術推廣開去。

紋身對於 Marcus 來說是生活的一部分，他身邊的人和事大都與紋身有關。而他覺得紋身只是一個在皮膚上的圖案，未必需要給予它任何意義。

The dragon symbolizes imperial power while the phoenix symbolizes nobility. Both are the embodiment of happiness and auspiciousness in the hearts of people (and cyborgs) from Pangu to the future “Heart of Cyberpunk” world. You can find the futuristic mascots in this quaint cheongsam shop.

Tristan Jalleh

Tristan Jalleh is Chinese-Malaysian Australian video artist and music video director based in Melbourne and SE Asia. He is also a member of the Sydney based art collective Club Ate formed by Justin Shoulder and Bhenji Ra.

Jalleh creates immersive virtual environments that situate everyday objects within the abstract, using a process of combining his own photographs with hundreds of images resourced online to construct virtual installations that merge the aesthetics of video games, architectural visualisations and cinema into densely detailed hyper-realities.
